WCPSS has adopted a "Multi-Tiered System of Supports" (MTSS) model (formally known as "Responsiveness to Instruction" or "Responsiveness to Intervention"). MTSS is an problem-solving approach designed to ensure that student needs are matched with evidence-based services delivered by qualified personnel in an effective and efficient manner. Student-centered data is integral to the model, and is used to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and intervention. The model consists of three tiers or levels that build upon one another and provide increasingly intensive support.
