ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a medically-diagnosed disorder that affects approximately 3-7% of school aged children. If parents are concerned with their child's attention level and ability to focus, the school may work with them to gather data from the classroom, as well as to collect parent and teacher ratings. Parents may choose to share this information with their child's medical provider. If a child is found to have ADHD, the school will work with the student to provide the accommodations necessary for academic success. More information regarding ADHD can be found here:

Autism/Autistic-Like Behaviors
Autism Spectrum Disorders refer to a complex group of related disorders characterized by impaired communication and socialization and by a limited (and often unusual) range of interests. A diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder is made by a qualified clinician or medical provider, and is separate from an educational diagnosis of Autism. If you are concerned that your child may have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, please contact both your child's medical provider, as well as the school, simultaneously, to begin assessments in each of these settings. Your child may qualify for services in one or both settings, and it is advisable to seek evaluation from both to maximize your child's ability to benefit from early intervention services.
